Assets:	Has a huge frame, so there is obvious home-run ability here. As a former pitcher, he boasts an outstanding throwing arm in the outfield. Can play all three outfield positions.
Flaws:	The transition from pitcher to full-time hitter isn't easy, and he's still a bit raw in the process. Must cut down on his strikeouts to have success in the big leagues as a hitter.
Career Potential:	Talented but raw outfielder.

Impact

It's not yet clear whether the deal includes an invitation to spring training. Loewen, a pitcher-turned-outfielder, hit just .231/.333/.389 at two different minor league levels for the Mets in 2012. He'll probably wind up serving as organizational depth for the Blue Jays.
